Empowering the next generation of leaders to build a stronger, more vibrant Hyde Park
What even is Hyde Park Youth City Council?
It’s a group for students in grades 8–12 (7th graders can join with a parent advisor), where you get to: * Plan and run awesome events * Help your community * Meet new people * Make real memories And yes… it’s completely FREE.
What do we actually DO?
A LOT. Like: 🎈 Hometown Days – parades, candy, water games, carnival booths, and more 🎭 Spook Alley – our biggest, most EPIC event of the year (15 years strong!) 💦 Back-to-School Water Slide 🎄 Christmas Festival 🐣 Easter Egg Hunt Plus, we help create new ideas every year—so your voice actually matters. Our new Hyde Park Youth City Council kicks off this summer—and we want YOU there. Don’t just sit around this year—be part of something bigger. Come serve, lead, and have fun with us! See you at Hyde Park Youth City Council!
Parents! We’re always looking for advisors! Any time or talent you can give is appreciated.
Each month the Youth Council chooses a Good Neighbor from nominations from the community. The Youth Council loves to surprise the winners with a gift basket filled with goodies and presents along with a big yard sign. Be sure and check back each month to see the current Good Neighbor Award winner.
Do you have a neighbor that serves you and your neighborhood or serves our city or our citizens? Or who do you know that goes above and beyond and makes our city a better place to live? Please nominate them by sending a write-up of why you are nominating them. You can email your nomination to HPGoodNeighbor@gmail.com
