Development Restrictions in RT, R2 & MXD Zones!
As of July 22, 2026: Ordinance 2026-11 repealed the Residential Transition (RT) zone and closed the R2 and MXD (mixed use) zones to new applications pending upcoming code changes. No new development applications in RT, R2 and MXD will be accepted at this time. Zoning Clearance Letters for building permits in R2 and MXD will still be issued for entitled projects.

Hyde Park City Council Mid-Term Vacancy

Hyde Park City is accepting applications to fill a mid-term vacancy on the City Council. The appointed council member will serve through January 1, 2028.

Applicants must be registered voters of Hyde Park City, have lived in the city for at least the previous 12 consecutive months, and meet the other eligibility requirements outlined in the application.

‍Application Deadline: Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Candidate Interviews: Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hyde Park City Office Building.
